By-dealer category
The by-dealer category is the Craigslist section where licensed dealers must post vehicle inventory, separate from the by-owner listings meant for private sellers.
On Craigslist, cars & trucks splits into by-owner and by-dealer. Dealer inventory belongs in by-dealer, which in most US markets carries a small per-listing fee. Posting dealer cars in by-owner to avoid the fee is against the rules and gets listings, and the account behind them, pulled.
Using the right category is the baseline for staying in good standing on the platform. It is the first of several rules that separate listings that stick from listings that get flagged.
